Build Your Email List With Facebook Groups

We all now know the power of Facebook in marketing, but are you effectively utilizing Facebook groups on your Facebook page?

If you are, great! This means that you already have an interactive Facebook group connected to your Facebook page where people feel comfortable asking questions, sharing information and commenting on other people’s posts. Established Facebook groups are a great place to build your email list too. “What if I don’t have an established Facebook group?” No problem, read this.

Pending Member Questions

When you create a Facebook group, you have the ability to ask potential members three questions before joining. Include one that asks for their email address, but give them a good reason why they should do that. Some examples may be quality content that you would like to share with them personally, access to your newsletter, or to enter in giveaways that your page frequently hosts.

Opt-In Content

Once your group is created and running, be sure to include content (i.e. blog posts, whitepapers, infographics, videos, etc.) that are ‘gated’ until they provide an email address to receive the content. You’ve all seen the pop-up box that asks for your email before you can access the content, right? That’s what I’m talking about here. If you need help building this out, talk to your webmaster, or find someone that can help you.

CTA’s Everywhere

No matter where your group member goes on your group page, they should easily be able to find a Call To Action (CTA). This includes the following areas:

Cover Banner: Create a graphic that calls your group members to action, which will be to click on the blue box below and sign up/enter to win/join the club, etc.
Page Description: You may provide links in your group description, so this is another great space to gain your group members’ email addresses “by clicking here”.
Pinned Post at the Top of the Group: You can pin a post at the top of the page, this should also include an opt-in link.
There are so many opportunities to take advantage of once you begin building your email list. Will get back to you on those! If you need any help, please feel free to contact me.

Mompreneur Marketing | Professional & Personal Branding

Are you a mompreneur? I am too.

I was hoping to create a business out of creating content that drives mompreneur success, but I got sidetracked… But, I still have some insight that I’d like to share with moms everywhere.

This blog post is all about one of the most important marketing tactics: Branding.

A lot of mompreneurs on social media don’t actually brand themselves. This is because, typically, they are working for a larger company that already has its own branding. But how will your LuLaRoe shop, for example, stand out above the rest?

Below are a few good reasons you should consider developing your professional, personal brand. (Yes, they are one in the same.)

Trust

Having a brand builds trust among your customers and potential customers. It shows them that you are serious about your business and that it’s not going anywhere. 82% of small businesses fail in the first year due to lack of cash flow, according to Preferred CFO. This means, yes you guessed it, they don’t make enough money to make ends meet.

Spending time on your brand means that you’re investing time in your business and it pays off in the end.

It’s YOU-nique

Just because you’re creating a professional brand, doesn’t mean it has to be boring. It should be personal. Think about who you are and what your business means to you and your audience. Can you think of a few ways you could put it all together and create something unique?

For instance, if you sell makeup products and you feel that YOU are your brand; choose a photo of yourself with your “look” and make it into a drawing or a sketch.

Don’t forget that your “brand” could still be a great, professional looking photo of you, just make sure you use the same photo throughout your marketing efforts.

Brand Recognition

When your branding is consistent, people will recognize it faster and remember it easier which will improve your marketing efforts tenfold. When people find you via Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, on your website, etc., what you do should be apparent. Take a look at your online presence with fresh eyes, or ask a third party for help on this one.

Now that you understand why it’s important to create a personal brand, I suppose I should talk about what that actually means.

  1. Create a Your Brand
  2. Branded Website
  3. Branded Social Media Accounts*

*Accounts means business accounts when applicable. Links to your website should be everywhere possible: in the bio, in the About section, in your jobs section, etc.

Consistency

If you didn’t already pick up on this theme: CONSISTENCY IS KEY in branding. Keep the same look and feel everywhere. Your business card photo should match your profile photos, your cover photo should be the same on each social media account, and all of this should also be reflected on your website.

When you want to “freshen” everything up, go for it! Just make sure you are updating your entire online presence.
